The last 2 are just thoughts from someone who does this for a living and shipped over 1000 orders in the last 30 days. They are just going to bid less money and you are going to pay more in fees. Might want to reconsider forcing your customers to pay for priority flat rate shipping on all those cheap light items. Your customers either won't buy from you at all, or they will only buy after adjusting that $4.60 shipping rate off the item because most of your competition is somewhere between 59 cents a 99 cents on shipping for cards now. You are lighting money on fire doing that now that ebay standard envelope exists.
Prepacking everything makes your inventory take more space and ends up being extra work as some things will never sell and other times people might buy multiple items at once requiring different packaging.Īlso, I noticed you selling trading cards with $4.60 shipping. In that case I build the box during listing and then just leave it in that box afterwards. The standard envelopes are made out of thin cardboard, so I doubt a box could fit but I'm 99 sure the legal envelope is a thin paper (I could totally be wrong, though), and the padded is just a bubble mailer. I generally only prepackage items that will either be tough to package or items that I THINK I can get under a pound for first class if I build the box. The dimensions of the flat rate envelopes are 9 1/2x12 1/2 for standard and padded, and 9 1/2x15 for legal.
